Skin Rejuvenation Info and FAQs

How does Skin Rejuvenation work?
The combined Bi-Polar Radio frequency and light energies precisely and safely target pigmented lesions such as freckles, sun spots and age spots. Vascular lesions such as spider vessels and redness from rosacea are also lightened and gradually fade.

Is Skin Rejuvenation for me?
Skin rejuvenation is safe for most lighter skin tones, unfortunately, the darker the skin the less effective the treatments become. Caucasian skin and lightly pigmented olive or yellow skin tones are safe to treat. Tanned skin will likely be affected adversely because of the melanin content of the epidermis. Skin types I, II, III, and IV are all safely treated by skin rejuvenation. Below is a description of these skin types.

Skin Type

I
Always burns. Can never tan. (Caucasian I.e. Scottish, Irish)
II
Usually sunburns. Can slightly tan with difficulty (Caucasian. I.e. Central European)
III
Sometimes sunburns. Can tan to golden brown (Caucasian. I.e Italian, Portugese)
IV
Rarely burns. Tans easily and quickly (Natural olive skin tones. I.e. Light Asian, Light  Mid-Eastern)

When can I expect to see results and how many treatments are needed?
Gradual and cumulative improvement of skin tone is typically achieved between 5-6 treatment sessions.
The total number of required treatments sessions depends on your skins condition.
Treatments are repeated every 2-4 weeks for a total of 5-6 treatments.

Does treatment hurt?
The sensation is described as a “hot pinch”, or “snapping” feeling and lasts only a fraction of a second. Most tolerate treatment without any topical anesthetic, but individuals who are more sensitive may wish to apply this before treatment.

What are the side-effects to Skin Rejuvenation
Temporary pink-ness in the treated area lasts a very short time and patients will usually return to normal activities immediately after treatment. Brown spots temporarily go darker before they will lighten.
