Post treatment advice
-
1 Treated areas may be tender, slightly red and swollen. This generally disappears within 12
to 24 hours. Apply ice packs for 15 minutes a few times a day if swelling occurs.
Hydrocortisone ointment or cream may also be applied to decrease redness and swelling.
-
Blisters, although rare (less than 1%), may occur in sensitive areas such as bikini line and neck areas. Should this occur, an antibiotic ointment can be applied twice daily until the
site has fully healed.
-
Oozing or crusting, although rare, may occur within 1-3 days. Do not remove crusts. Do not shave area. Vitamin E or Aloe Vera may be applied to keep the area moist.
-
You may shower the day of laser treatments. The area should be washed gently with cool to warm water and mild soap, pat dry and do not rub.
-
We recommend using only mineral makeup after lasering facial areas. Mineral
makeup is naturally anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial, and will protect your skin
from ultraviolet rays as it is a sunblock.
-
Avoid exposure to sun and sun bed tanning, or use sunscreen SPF 30 or greater for 1 - 2 weeks following treatments, as uneven pigmentation can occur in a small number of cases.
-
Shaving, depilatory creams or bleaches are okay between laser treatments. Plucking, waxing and sugaring should be avoided as these methods may potentially reduce the
effectiveness of your next treatment.
